Register for our next Squadron Lunch meeting at the Key Allegro Yacht Club (KAYC) in Rockport. You may select from the KAYC menu and pay directly to the KAYC for your meal.
You must register by midnight on Monday, July 6th to attend (we must provide a count of attendees to the KAYC).
The program will be provided by Captain Chuck Naiser:
A leader in the community with a bent for action, Chuck Naiser has been fishing on the Texas Coast since the 70's and professionally guiding since the 90's. A foundational member of the Coastal Conservation Association, a vanguard of fly fishing in Texas, and most recently the founder of FlatsWorthy, a nonprofit group promoting respect for shared waterways, respect for the resource and respect for the law. Captain Naiser has vast experience and many stories about protecting the Texas Coast and has seen firsthand drastic changes in the local waters around Rockport and Aransas Bay. He will talk to us about efforts to maintain the health of oyster reefs and fisheries on the Texas Coast, changes in local waters since he started fishing the Rockport area many years ago, and his goals for a healthy fishing environment in Texas. Hopefully he might even have time to discuss the Texas Redfish Wars in the late 70's when commercial redfish netting was banned. Captain Naiser's fight has been different than those of sailors in the Texas Navy, but his commitment and determination for protecting our shores is the same.
